The Science Behind Quicklift
In the cosmetic industry, sugars are all the rage! The biological action they have on the skin is different from that of protein and they also have different rheological behaviour in terms of surface action. Thus, it was decided to use sugar in order to develop a new active skin tensing ingredient.
Several sugars were selected to polymerise. Then tested their tensing action. The most effective polymer proved to be that with a xanthan base.
This sugar is comprised of beta-D-glucose chains, 50% of which have a lateral chain made from a-D-mannose, B-D-glucuronic acid and B-D-mannose.
Quicklift ® is a xanthan polymer with rapid and long- lasting tensing effectiveness in vivo, which lasts up to 4 hours after application. It leaves the skin visibly smoother, with absolutely no sticky effect. Quicklift ® is an invisible network of sugars that tightens the skin just like the natural coating of say a fruit.
